Events at A Book For All Seasons

We love to support our local authors and our events allow us to give something back to the community as well. We offer book signings, talks, readings, writing workshops, and meals with an author—often accompanied with a slide show.

Birds of the Inland Northwest and Northern Rockies

Join Mike as he shares his wit, wisdom, and "awe of all things living" in this family-friendly venue. Mike Denny is one of three co-authors of Birds of the Inland Northwest and Northern Rockies.

Mike started birding in Africa where he lived from the time he was 8 until he was 13 years old and where he says he discovered "awe of all things living." Mike has lived and birded in Washington's Walla Walla valley since 1978. He studied biology, and worked in biology for Umatilla National Forest.

Mike Denny is currently the Riparian Habitat Coordinator for the Walla Walla County Conservation District. Mike is also Conservation Chair at Blue Mountain Audubon Society. Mike received the 2007 Science Award from Audubon Washington for his work on minimizing bird kills from wind energy development.

Birds of the Inland Northwest and Northern Rockies is an identification guide for the birds of the Eastern Washington, Eastern Oregon, all of Idaho and Western Montana. Beginner as well as veteran birders will love this book.

This is the perfect field guide for beginning or younger birders, who will appreciate the large, clear photographs, the color-coding, and the "quick guide" and "common local" overviews. A favorite guide for experienced birders as well, due to its compact size and interesting facts. Over 260 local birds are featured, with information on calls, feeding, behavior, ID tricks, and more. A small, light book, easy to tuck in your backpack or drop in a coat pocket.
