Writers Camp 2007

9.00am – 2.30pm all week, August 13 — 17

Amazing authors everywhere!

The identity of Camp Authors is supposed to be kept Top Secret, but we can't resist letting a few secrets slip when we have such fantastic authors coming! The schedule so far features...

Alma Alexander, author of the absorbing, original Young Adult Fantasy Worldweavers: Gift of the Unmage. Born with ink in her veins on the banks of an ancient river in Yugoslavia, Alma is a professional tumbleweed born under a wandering star, and punaholic. She gave up a career in Microbiology to pursue the adventures of the pen and the page, and has since published over a million words of history, poetry, fairytale, fiction and fantasy.

You can visit her online at www.almaalexander.com

Susan Wooldridge, author of the witty, whimsical writers guide Poemcrazy! Susan has held hundreds of Writing Workshops since 1980, and loves to encourage the extraordinary—just pick up a pen and play with some words! Go poemcrazy! You can visit her online at www.susanwooldridge.com

Katherine Grace Bond is an accomplished poet, editor, and award-winning author. Her Top Secret Techniques for overcoming Writers Block include writing pages of unrestrained ranting, going outside instead, and sitting in the dirt pretending to be a pirate. She has traveled around the Puget Sound area telling stories and teaching workshops, and currently lives in Washington State with her husband, several children, a lovely Labrador and a very predatory cat. She got her gray hair by climbing over large, slimy boulders at the beach. Katherine urges extreme caution when approaching poetry. You can visit her online at www.katherinegracebond.com

Kathleen Alcalá grew up surrounded by stories, and filled her childhood Summers in Mexico with cousins, Taruhamara Indians, cheap fireworks, and great food. As an adult, she's led a lively literary life as an award-winning author, teacher and playwrite. You can visit her online at www.kathleenalcala.com
