Dugoni brings back David Sloane, the Rambo of lawyers!

Robert Dugoni

New York Times bestselling author Robert Dugoni delivers another searing courtroom drama in his newest thriller, Bodily Harm. "The lawyer who does not lose," Sloane is on the verge of another victory, bringing justice to parents who lost a six-year-old to a pediatrician's apparent negligence. But something about this malpractice case, something he can't quite pinpoint, has bothered Sloane from the start.

Sloane's uneasiness crystallizes when an apparently crazed young man confronts him — a toy designer, who believes his toy is responsible the child's death. Before Sloane can follow up, the toy designer has mysteriously vanished, his apartment ransacked. Sloane teams up with longtime partner (and former CIA operative) Charles Jenkins to reexamine the deaths and dig deeper into the claims. They find themselves in the eerily cutthroat world of toy manufacturing, where hundreds of millions of dollars are staked on finding the next "It" product.

As Sloane gets closer to the truth, he trips a wire leading to a shocking chain of events that nearly destroys him. To get to the bottom of it all and find justice for the families harmed, Sloane must dodge a vicious and calculating killer, exonerate the doctor, overcome a devastating personal loss — and hardest of all, keep in check his overwhelming desire for revenge. Full of nail-bitingly tense action scenes and edge-of-your-seat courtroom drama, Bodily Harm finds author Robert Dugoni at the very top of his game.

Praise

"David Sloane, the Rambo of lawyers, is struggling to balance his mega-successful professional career with his not nearly as successful personal life... when his world explodes in a maelstrom of violence... brands Dugoni as the undisputed king of the legal thriller." — Providence Journal

"An intriguing premise ... lots of action ... a real page turner" — Library Journal Review

"Smart and savvy with more muscle than the average legal thriller... Dugoni has put the thrills back in the genre." — Nelson DeMille

"firmly establishes [Dugoni] in the top echelon of the genre. Tense and shocking from the beginning to the surprising end, this is Dugoni 's best book yet. Prior knowledge of his other David Sloane novels is not necessary, but they will be eagerly sought out by new readers [of Bodily Harm]" — Booklist (Starred Review)

"Seattle author Robert Dugoni explodes from the tired pack of Grisham wannabes with a riveting tale of murder, treachery and skullduggery" — Seattle Times

About the Author

Born in Pocatello, Idaho, Dugoni majored in communications at Stanford, then worked as a reporter, before deciding to attend law school. Dugoni practiced law in San Francisco and Seattle, while never losing sight of his childhood dream of writing. In addition to writing novels Dugoni teaches the craft of writing.

Dugoni's non-fiction expose, The Cyanide Canary, chronicling the investigation, prosecution, and aftermath of an environmental crime, was selected as a Washington Post Best Book of the year, and the Idaho Book of the Year. Dugoni's debut novel, The Jury Master, became a New York Times bestseller, chosen as one of three "Best of the Best" debut novels of 2006 by Deadly Pleasures Mystery Magazine.

Dugoni's second novel, Damage Control, a national independent best-seller, was acclaimed as "a page turner" with "twists that will surprise even seasoned thriller readers." Wrongful Death, Dugoni's sequel to The Jury Master, was acclaimed as: "mixing the suspense of a Grisham legal thriller with the political angle of a Baldacci. Dugoni is knocking on the A-list thriller door," wrote Booklist.

Bodily Harm, Dugoni's fourth novel and third in the David Sloane series, has been called by reviewers his best book yet. Dugoni's work has been published in 19 countries.
